Cavan Innovation & Technology Centre (CITC), in partnership with the Institute of Technology, Tallaght and Cavan County Enterprise Board, this week announced details of an exciting, new project designed to help Cavan-based businesses access high-level product design and development expertise at zero cost.
The “Celt Net” project will provide Cavan SMEs with access to the technical expertise necessary to review new technologies and assess whether their application can help solve a business problem, increase productivity, reduce waste, or develop/improve a product or process.
According to Roberta Feely, Programme Manager, CITC, “The project offers local businesses a unique opportunity to take advantage of the Institute of Technology’s broad experience and technical capability in areas such as CAD, Product Design, Rapid Prototyping, Rapid Tooling and Reverse Engineering”.
Pat McLaughlin, Head of the School of Engineering, ITT Dublin, commented, “Our project team can create aggressive designs and rapid prototypes that optimise design, manufacture, performance and maintenance. Our skills range from ergonomics and interface design thru’ prototyping, test verification and validation, to manufacture and pre-production specification.”
Vincent Reynolds, CEO, Cavan County Enterprise Board, added, “We would be delighted to invite anyone interested in learning more about the project to attend a FREE introductory workshop which will take place at 2.00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28th in the Institute of Technology, Tallaght. There you can learn more about how your product and process capability can be improved and see, first-hand, the product design, rapid prototyping and reverse engineering facilities available to you through the project.”
